Thank You Josh and Monkeys

For the past week I have been flying around. Sitting in airports, riding in the back of cabs and listening to my ipod. One song has risen above all of the others. The new artic monkeys, produced by josh from queens of the stone age. Big hopes for the rest of the album, but thanks for the single……it has gotten me through this far; a perfect combination of smart, dirty, and hooky. thanks.

Summer Music

without comments

The weather in Chicago has been nothing short of shit this Spring. It has been cold, rainy, with very few warm sunny days. The worst part for me is that it has been fairly overcast here, which I thought was supposed to be rare.

This is all self-justification for the fact that I have been slow switching out my ipod with new music. I had it loaded with a bunch of slow, winter tunes, jazz, Antony and the Johnsons, Animal Collective…..good headphone music, but a little on the slow side.

I switched it out today, added some punk and ska to help burn the clouds away, bring out the sun. One album that went on was old Elvis Costello. This song was one of the first to play, Lipstick Vogue. I love the drums and driving bass of the song. Found this video of him playing, wild and full of energy. Great stuff.
