Stay Young Kittens
Nice stop motion film from Lego. They also have a related site, legoclick.com Love how it says “Inspired by a million of true stories” at the end. Nice touch.

Notebook + Highlighter

Dave Terry shares an interesting approach to using a journal for his work. Besides the clear little sketches the idea of taking a highlighter to the notes as a method of filtering and reviewing is very interesting.

I want to paint it black
Blue

After what seems like weeks of gray, the sky has returned.
Kyle has left the city too, heading to Seattle. It was amazing being in the same place with him again. Sunday nights will be a bit lonelier and probably have less production numbers performed by the kids. Good luck in Seattle.
Red
Been eating and drinking a lot of red things lately:
- Blood red Whiskey Sours, yes complete with raw egg (for mouthfeel)….makes it like a whiskey smoothie.
- Spicy Fried Cauliflower. Good Indian Chinese fusion meal….I added tofu and fried it the same as the cauliflower, which was good, made a complete meal out of the dish.
- RareRoast Beef, slow cooked at 225 degrees for 2 hours after salting for 24. Nice and rare. Recipe from Cooks Illustrated.

Strange trip to Kansas yesterday. Went to pitch some new business, got stranded because of snow in Chicago on the return. We finally took off 4 hours late. Flight attendants were handing out free drinks (multiple), people were thanking the crew over the intercom, we gave a round of applause for the army troops in row 1. I was listening to a bunch of old Flaming Lips, which seemed to be the perfect soundtrack for it all. Thanks weird Southwest crew, thanks drunk passengers. It was good to get home.
Up in the Morning
Playing around with a different header size. Experimenting with having some animation in there too.
Wanted to link out to some people who I look(ed) at almost daily and provided the fuel to jump off with this:
+ mav at port2port. Great photography and letterpress.
+ draplin Wears his heart on his sleeve in the best of ways.
+ jason zada’s old blog. It looks to be down, but I used to read it all the time.
There are a ton of others that I visit, but those 3 pop to the top.

Steve Powers - nice mash-up of sign painting and modern life.
